Springsteel Resort reports “The road has kept us busy this year with the bridge upkeep and the weekly blowing snow but it’s still plowed to whiskey flats area. It still goes by the DNR reef and out through South Buffalo. There is a lot of snow now so most people are needing some kind of help with the plows.

Fishing has been decent at times. It’s been the best when we get a few days of consistent weather. We are still fishing deep in 26 to 28 feet but we have heard a few walleye getting caught shallower around 22-24 ft. It tends to be more mornings and evening but they have been nicer fish.

This week looks like it will be calm and steady so hopefully the fishing will pick up for the weekend. Good luck and be safe.”
