From 9am – 5pm, community members have the opportunity to visit the downtown district and pick up a Holiday Passport. These will be located at participating businesses, who will have a sign posted on their store front. Visit each business for their open houses and get your passport stamped. Once it is full, be sure to drop it off at Allison Park by 5pm. The winner will be announced during the Tree Lighting Ceremony and will have the opportunity to win a prize!

Holiday Display Competition
Businesses have also been challenged to a Holiday Display competition. On the back side of the Holiday Passport, you can vote for your favorite display. Winners will be announced during the Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Report

Gretchen Mehmel, Wildlife Area Manager from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reports…

“There has been a lot of rain in this forest area this fall (and we currently have 4” of snow on the ground) – it’s wet out there.  I wanted to let you know what to expect for this coming deer season if you are traveling this way – you need to think ahead to plan your hunt this year more than ever.

Please look for information about the State Forest Roads at this link: https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/trailconditions/index.html.

Make sure you build time in this year for scouting.  Be aware that you may not be able to turn a vehicle around if an area is impassable, so walking might be the best option in many cases.

Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.  In any case, good luck hunting, enjoy your time in the woods, and – above all – stay safe!”
