Lake of the Woods Ice Report | December 18, 2019

Springsteel Resort checked the ice again this afternoon out to the Sandbar and DNR reef and found 12-14″ of ice in the spots they checked last week.

“So things are coming along nicely. There is still rough ice the first mile or so that we plan to work on this weekend. We are going to continue to allow ATVs and snowmobiles with portables or smaller skid houses for the weekend. We are not allowing truck traffic for the weekend.

The fishing report has been steady with walleye and sauger being caught at the sandbar and DNR reef in 18-21 ft.

We will have more updates to follow when we decide to open the road. As always use caution when traveling on the ice this weekend. Good luck and be safe.”

Looking to catch that trophy walleye on Lake of the Woods, check out our fishing page to learn more about ice fishing from Warroad or request lodging dates on our lodging availability page.
