Springsteel Resort Ice Report Jan. 28, 2016

There has been no change in the thickness of ice. We still only have 12 to 16 inches. Recent snow, wind and warm temps have made it a little sloppy in areas, so don’t be surprised if you find slush. We haven’t had any issues yet with bad cracks or pressure ridges but we would still like to limit the size and weight of rigs on the ice. We want to continue with 1/2 tons and single axle houses because of the snow we got this weeks and possibly more Friday. We will do some plowing for the weekend to make things easier to get around but it won’t be our usual big road yet because the ice is so chopped up. As of today we aren’t to south buffalo yet, still looking for a safe route up there. Good luck this weekend and safe travels!
