Bike the Warroad Trail
The biking paths around the Warroad Point Park are ideal for family biking. The wide, paved trails that wind around the lagoons next to Lake of the Woods provide plenty of space for training wheels, bike trailers, and even tandem bikes. Choose a short loop of a few miles, or go the distance, about 7 miles out to the Warroad Estates and back.

Golf a Course with a Minnesota State-Shaped Green
Warroad Estates Golf Course is an 18 hole championship layout with a Par 72 – 6,942 yard design that features four sets of tees and offers plenty of hazards (water and sand) to test the more experienced golfer while still giving the beginners a fair chance. The course is open to the public and has a relaxed atmosphere that will make anyone feel welcome. Be sure to check out the 9th green shaped as the state of Minnesota. The course is located 1 mile north of the intersection of US Hwy 313 & US Hwy 11 in Warroad, MN or five miles south of the US/Canadian border form Canadian Hwy 12.

Is there a public beach in Warroad?
There is a City beach in Warroad. It is located by the campground and boat access. There is a playground nearby, a picnic area, and picnic shelters close by for shelter or bigger groups or families. There is also a seasonal sand bottom outdoor pool in the same area.
Where is the best place to swim near Warroad?
Warroad has a beach area, picnic area, boat access, and playground.
There is a seasonal outdoor sand-bottom pool close to the playground.
There is an indoor pool located at the High School.
There is a splash pad for small children at Allison Park.
What parks in Warroad have playgrounds for kids?
Allison park has a playground, picnic areas, splash pad, bathrooms, and stage area.
Rainbow Park is located by the beach area. It has a big playground, basketball court, and picnic shelters. There are bathrooms nearby. Nomad Tavern is nearby for lunch or snacks. The Boat launch is nearby too.
Sunshine Park is a neighborhood park with new playground equipment and a small basketball court.
Are there picnic areas or shelters available for public use in Warroad?
There are picnic shelters available in Rainbow Park by The Point. They are also available to rent for class or family reunions, birthday parties, or big groups. There are Gazebos at Allison Park. There’s also a Pavilion available in warmer months. The Pavillion and gazebos are available to rent through the City
Please call the city office at (218) 386-1454, or stop by the City Office to complete the reservation form. There is no charge to reserve the shelters unless you need the wind breaks put up. Where are the public boat launches on Lake of the Woods?
In Warroad, the most popular boat launch is referred to as “The Point”. There is a large parking lot for trucks and trailers and overflow parking. There is a campground nearby as well.
Kakaygeesick is a hidden gem by Seven Clans Casino. There is not much for parking, but being the hidden nature, not many know about it.
Springsteel Resort has boat access and a canal area with boat slips available to park or as a seasonal slip.
How do I book a Lake of the Woods fishing charter out of Warroad?

What fish species can I catch in the summer on Lake of the Woods, MN?
Lake of the Woods is known for its Walleye. However, we also catch Northern Pike, Small and Large Mouth Bass, Perch, Crappie, Sauger, Lake Trout, Lake Sturgeon, and Muskellunge.
What are the fishing license requirements for Lake of the Woods?
You need to watch where you drift on Lake of the Woods as you may drift into Canadian waters. If you are in US/Minnesota waters, you need a Minnesota Fishing License. They are sold at most gas stations locally and some local outfitters.
If you go or float into Canadian waters, there are a lot of different rules. You will need a Canadian Fishing License. You will need bait from Canada. You also cannot have any alcohol in your boat.
As long as you don’t dock your boat, touch land, use moor lines, anch. drift into their waters, or exchange goods, you do not need to check in with Canadian Customs.
If you do want to go onshore, contact them at 888-PAN-PASS prior to your trip. Make sure to check back into the US upon re-entry. There are US Customs kiosks at Jim’s Corner, Young’s Bay, or Carlson’s Landing (all at the Angle), or check with an Angle resort with an iPad from US Customs.
Are there any good hiking or biking trails near Warroad?
Yes, there are biking trails in Warroad. They meander around the campground, around the lagoons, and can get you all the way to the Warroad Estates. Hugo’s has free bike rentals available in the summer months.
