PRESS RELEASE | Construction underway for Riverplace

Construction Riverplace

PRESS RELEASE, SEPT. 15, 2023

Warroad will be home to RiverPlace – a new arts, culture and event center being built alongside the Warroad River. Construction on the 20,000 square foot facility is currently underway. A massive 150 ft tall crane is being used to lift 40 ft high, 23-ton precast concrete panels into place on the theater portion of the facility; Mortenson Construction is the general contractor for this project.

“This is an exciting milestone for the community of Warroad and the entire region. I’ve seen firsthand how art, culture and events centers can transform small, rural communities in ways that were never thought imaginable. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with the Board of Directors and the local community to bring the vision to life,” said
Executive Director, John Davis.

The approximately $20 million dollar facility is scheduled to open to the public in in the fall of 2024”. “We are excited to engage the community and region on programming, fundraising and partnership ideas over the course of the next year,” said Davis.
