Guests from the AGLOW Conference Visit Warroad

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, the Warroad Area Chamber of Commerce & Convention & Visitors Bureau had the privilege of hosting 12 guests from the AGLOW conference being held at Sportsmans’ Lodge in Baudette, MN.  AGLOW is the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers and they annually hold a conference in a selected area. The guests that came to Warroad for the day were primarily spouses of the writers. They enjoyed shopping in our quaint boutiques and shops during the morning. At noon a luncheon was hosted at Doc’s Harbor Inn along the beautiful Warroad River. Following the luncheon, the guests were given boat rides along the scenic Warroad River to enjoy the fall foliage and views that our community has to offer.

Lake of the Woods Fishing Report

walleye

The walleye have moved back in shallow and the shorelines have really been good the last couple weeks. From the blinker at Warroad to Springsteel island and up to Elm Pt has been the best.

Most people have been drifting spinners with minnows and crawlers. The sandbar has also produced some limits the last couple days jigging too. With decent weather in the forecast, the fishing should continue to worth a trip to the lake. Good luck fishing!!

The Shed – Named as 1 of the “11 Coolest Attractions In MN That Not Enough People Visit”

“Most people haven’t heard of this unique attraction in Warroad, Minnesota. With a name like The Shed, it doesn’t bring anything particularly exciting to mind. But if you look past the name, you’ll learn that The Shed is actually a collection of nearly 100 classic cars displayed in a 24,000-square-foot building. If you’re a car fan, you’ll love the variety of the collection and the care that has gone into keeping it pristine. Visiting hours do vary, so you’ll want to check in on the website before you visit.”
