January 28, 2019 | Springsteel Resort Lake of the Woods Ice Fishing Report

Springsteel Resort Fishing Report

The road from Springsteel Resort is plowed to whiskey flats. It goes by DNR reef crosses a bridge and heads out to South Buffalo point and Whiskey flats.

Fishing has been hit and miss the last couple weeks with the frigid cold temps we have had. The best fishing reports have come in deeper water as of lately so try and get in that 27-29ft of water. Colors can vary from day to day but the standard is gold and glows. We are in for another blast of cold weather this week so will find out if the fish decide to bite. As always stay warm and stay safe will out on the lake.

The Warroad Chamber & Springsteel Resort Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Springsteel Resort.  Over $30,000 in cash & prizes will be awarded.  Derby tickets are $20 each and available online or at local Warroad retailers. Contact us for more details.

January 9, 2019 | Arnesen’s Lake of the Woods Ice Fishing Report

Arnesen's Lake of the Woods Ice Fishing Report

Here’s your latest report from Rocky Point guide, Jase Lamberson.

Fishing has been good around Rocky Point. Mornings have been a bit slower, but the bite picks up mid day until around 4:30pm. We are fishing anywhere from 28-32 ft. of water. A plain red hook with a split shot on a dead stick has been working well. A red or white buckshot on the jigging rod has also been attracting fish. Electronics are key. Some houses are catching fish that are suspended — set dead stick rods 6 to 8 inches off the bottom. Good luck!
