Vendor Registration – A Taste of Warroad

We invite you to participate in A Taste of Warroad date night event. This is our second annual event designed to offer a sample of local treats that Warroad has to offer. The event will take place on Friday, April 26th at 5:30pm located in the Gardens Arena — ice level. Set up for this event will begin at 10:00am and entrance will be on the North end of the building(school side).

This is a great opportunity for you to showcase and market your business products. You will be providing samples only, no purchases during this event, but we do encourage you to bring special offers for your business to get people coming back.

Set up:

Set up will begin at 10:00am. Two 6’ tables will be available for each provider. We recommend you provide approximately 300 samples for this event. You will be responsible for any other items needed for your sampling such as: table cover, decorations, electrical cords, warming trays, cooling containers, and sampling containers. Since this year’s event will be in the arena, we will have very limited access to electrical outlets and encourage you to use chafing dishes that won’t require electricity. Please make sure to follow food safety procedures regarding warming, cooling, and have food prepped at your business location, not in the arena.

Coupon book participation:

If you would like to submit a coupon for the coupon book we will be giving out, please submit your business logo and deal you would like offered on your coupon no later then March 29th. You can submit your logo and offer by email to Kinsey Coppock at kins.coppock@gmail.com.

Social Media:

We will be sending social media graphics and encourage you to share on your social media pages that you will be participating in this year’s Taste of Warroad, with the hashtag: #tasteofwarroad

Arnesen’s Resort Lake of the Woods Fishing Report

Here’s your latest fishing report from Captain Tim “Wingnut” Hill of Arnesen’s Resort on beautiful Lake of the Woods.

“The bite has picked up with warmer weather. Fish are returning to reefs and points with many of them suspended off the bottom, so if you see a mark high up on your graph, you need to go for it. 27-32′ is the magic depth in most areas. We continue to work deep edges of the reefs and shoreline. Red and pink are the lucky colors. Switching to orange/chartreuse/blue helps to get the fish to bite. Try a plain painted hook with split shot on the dead stick. We are seeing a lot more slot fish over 19.5″ with some at the 30″+ size. All fish are very healthy. We are also seeing northern pike and perch picking up. Best of luck!”

There’s still time to book your ice fishing getaway on Lake of the Woods! Call Arnesen’s at 218-442-7215 to book your vacation package and don’t forget to ask about their late ice special or click here for lodging in Warroad.

Jason Williams landed the fish of a lifetime last week. The walleye measured in at 31.5″ and weighed 11 lbs.

Polar Plunge Warroad

Polar Plunge

WHAT IS THE POLAR PLUNGE?

THE POLAR PLUNGE IS A SERIES OF EVENTS
WHERE PEOPLE JUMP INTO A FROZEN LAKE
TO SUPPORT SPECIAL OLYMPICS MINNESOTA

“Special Olympics Minnesota is part of a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community. Through athletic, health and leadership programs, SOMN aims to create a world that accepts and welcomes every single person regardless of ability or disability. All funds raised from Polar Plunge support over 8,200 athletes across the state who participate in Special Olympics programs such as Young Athletes, Unified Sports, Healthy Athletes and ALPs University.

Polar Plunge is a part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run movement. To further the mission of Special Olympics Minnesota, the Law Enforcement Torch Run carries the torch, representing the “Flame of Hope”, and dedicates itself to the goals of continually increasing awareness and funds for Special Olympics athletes across the state. Simply put, Polar Plunge would not exist without the dedication, efforts and service of Minnesota Law Enforcement.

Fundraising is required to participate in the Polar Plunge, but the minimum $75 you raise accomplishes so much more than getting you to jump into a frozen lake!”

The Warroad Plunge will take place Saturday, March 16 at 2pm.
