July Fishing Report Lake of the Woods

“Walleye fishing has been a little bit of a challenge since our last report. The mayfly hatch went full swing just after the 4th and we’ve had some up and down weather. That said, the forecast for the rest of this week and the weekend has improved and, with that, we expect the fishing to improve as well. Fish may be a bit scattered so be sure to trust your sonar to find the fish for you.
 
In Ontario, Muskie fishing has remained strong with lots of active fish all over the lake. Austin fished the east side of the lake early this week and had good action. Nick fished the west side and had the same. Walleye fishing was ok but, as with the south end, we expect that to improve as we move into this weekend and next week.”
