This second largest state forest occupies an area of 669,000 acres spanning the counties of Roseau, Lake of the Woods, and Beltrami. Canoeing, biking, fishing, hunting, picnicking, hiking, horseback riding trails, cross country ski trails, and 138 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. Off-road vehicles (ATVs, etc.) are allowed on all trails unless posted closed. No fee for camping.

This secluded park gives visitors a chance to see a variety of Minnesota wildlife. Loons, moose, beaver, fisher, otter, lynx, black bear and wolves live in the area. Enjoy rustic campgrounds, swimming, fishing, and boating. 13 miles of hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, groomed snowmobile trails. Canoe and kayak rentals: half-day and full day.
