Lake of the Woods Fishing Report

The Woods Goods Report… “Fishing on the big lake continues to be great!  On the south end, good numbers and good sized fish are being reported in many places.  A jig and a minnow continue to produce but some are starting to use other methods as fish transition toward the main basin, mid summer patterns.  The most consistent reports have been from the Rocky Point and South Tip to Whiskey Flats areas.

At the Northwest Angle there is plenty of action to be had.  Walleye fishing has been great with good numbers of fish on points and reefs in the 22-26′ range.  Smallmouth fishing remains decent on some shorelines.  The recent Ontario Musky opener adds another element of fun for people fishing up north.  Bays and rocky shorelines are places to focus for these incredible fish right now. “
